Some chemotherapy and radiation treatments can impact your ability to have biological children in the future. Protecting your options is a priority that happens at the very start of your journey.

The “Before” Rule: You must discuss fertility preservation with your team before your first dose of chemo or radiation. Once treatment starts, the window for preservation may close.

The Options: This typically involves sperm banking for men or egg/embryo freezing for women.

Financial Aid: Ask your social worker about organizations like Livestrong or Team Maggie that provide grants to help AYA patients cover these costs.
